Finally, after a long time, I’m  able to report what’s been up with me. Poor internet connection and working hard in Indonesia, where I spent this August and September, later on preparing for the solo exhibition, are the reasons why there was no voice from me for a long time.

At the end of September I returned from the residence in a traditional pottery village Pagerjurang, an hour’s drive from the Indonesian cultural capital of Yogyakarta. Invading the Space is an installation, a result of working with local equipment (which can already be seen in the gallery).  I will write more about the experience in the following days. The installation was exhibited at Galeri Nasional Indonesia, in Jakarta, on JCCB # 3, Jakarta Contemporary Ceramics Biennial #3. The catalog of the biennial exhibition can be viewed on this page.

During my absence, there were quite some things happening here in Slovenia. I exhibited at the XV. Extempore Ceramics in Piran, where I also received the prize for the most original work form my sculpture Composition no. 53.

During my absence was closed an exhibition XXI Concorso di Ceramica Mediterranea, which was held in ceramics museums, in Grottaglie, Italy. I exhibited a sculpture from the series Objects.

After my arrival in Slovenia, we have also opened two new solo exhibition.

Invading the Space is a smaller exhibition that is currently on display in Črni Kot, in Kosovelov Dom Sežana. The exhibition displays photographs of work Invading the Space, and a small installation that combines sculptures from the series Objects (which have already been exhibited at Sculpture association Gallery previous year) and smaller sculptures, which survived the transport from Indonesia. You can visit the exhibition until 2.11.2014.

Contact was made before my departure abroad and is currently exhibited in Lična Hiša in Ajdovščina. The exhibition was opened in a relaxed atmosphere. Polona, David, Oskar and Jon, I’m glad that the Contact came to life with your help and in your wonderful gallery! Exhibition of ceramics and prints will be on display until 07.11.2014. Photos from the opening can be viewed here.

And what will the future bring? In November, I’m returning to Wroclaw, Poland, where I studied ceramics and printmaking for one year. Now I’m going back to  postgraduate studies Interdisciplinary printmaking. It’s going to be quite interesting and I will keep informing on what’s up with me.

Hello!

Welcome to my new website which has been created in order to allow easier access to my work. I invite you to contact me if you have any questions, requests or comments.

I’m opening the site with good news: In August, I will travel to a one-month artist residency in Indonesia, in a unique pottery village located at Bayat, Klaten, Central Java. Bayat pottery village is well known with its unique traditional wheel which is founded more than 400 years ago, and it still survive until now, and such wheel is only found in Indonesia. I will be creating an artwork that will be part of Jakarta Contemporary Ceramics Biennale 2014, exhibited in the  National Gallery of Indonesia in Jakarta.

Two of my works, King and Queen from the Relations series, will be exhibited at Arteffato in Trieste, which opens on 05.29.2014.

My sculptures We Talk have already been exhibited at the international group exhibition Crossing Borders in SOMArts gallery in San Francisco. The organizers are taking the exhibition abroad, to Instituto Municipal de Arte y Cultura in Tijuana, Mexico.
